  • Brad Brooks

    Chief Executive Officer

    Brad Brooks
    Chief Executive Officer Brad previously ran DIC Entertainment as President for six years after working for Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette as an Investment Banker. After acquiring the company with Bain Capital from the Walt Disney Company in 2000, he helped grow the company from less than $10 million of revenues to over $80 million in 2005 when he took the company public on the London Stock Exchange at a $200 million valuation. Brad received his BA from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

    Dr. Andrew Brooks, M.D.
    Chief Medical Officer Dr. Andrew A. Brooks, he founded Cardo Medical, Inc. in May 2007 which was acquired by Arthrex in 2011. Dr. Brooks has been in the private practice of orthopedic surgery since 1994, specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy and joint reconstruction. Prior to founding Cardo Medical, founded Specialty Surgical Center, and sold it to Symbion (NASDAQ; SMBI) in 2005. Dr. Brooks is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He received his BS and MD degrees from University of Southern California. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Southern California, and subsequently completed a fellowship in arthroscopic reconstructive surgery and sports medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia.
  • Kirk Paul Kirkman

    Kirk Paul Kirkman
    President, Client Org. Kirk is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in account management, marketing, sales, professional services, and product management. Kirk brings extensive experience and deep knowledge of healthcare IT to his role as president of client organization at TigerText, where he oversees sales and customer support. Additionally, in this role, Kirk advises healthcare organizations on best practices for streamlining clinical communications and improving overall workflow. Prior to joining TigerText, Kirk served as Vice President of Enterprise Solutions at athenahealth, where he consulted healthcare customers on technology implementation strategies to drive significant clinical and financial returns. Before that he held executive positions at TamberHealth, Zix Corporation, and Amicore Inc. Throughout his career, Kirk has worked tirelessly to ensure that patient safety is a foundational, cultural imperative, and has successfully created and implemented several prevailing patient safety programs that remain in place to this day. Kirk earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in management from Pennsylvania State University. Kirk serves on the board of several companies and is an avid volunteer in his local community.

    Kelli Castellano
    Chief Marketing Officer Kelli is an experienced marketing and communications strategist with more than 15 years of B2B marketing experience. At TigerText, Kelli serves as chief marketing officer overseeing company marketing strategies, campaigns, and brand awareness programs to solidify TigerText’s position as a leader in secure clinical communications. Prior to TigerText, Kelli served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for NextGen Healthcare, where she manifested her expertise in marketing strategy development and execution within the healthcare industry. Additionally, Kelli has held executive positions with a number of technology companies including Affiliated Computer Services and Companion Technologies. Throughout her career, Kelli has focused on empowering organizations to navigate in a competitive market to facilitate growth and drive revenue. Kelli earned a bachelor of science degree in business management and marketing from University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business.

    Thor Clark
    Chief Technology Officer Thor is an experienced technology leader with more than 15 years of experience as a CTO and technology innovator. At TigerText, Thor serves as chief technology officer overseeing product engineering, operations, and systems architecture. Prior to TigerText, Thor was the CTO and co-founder at SignNow, acquired by Barracuda Networks (NYSE:CUDA) where Thor served as Vice President, Engineering. Thor was the CTO at INVESTools (a NASDAQ company acquired by TD Ameritrade) and held key technology roles at organizations including Yahoo and Telescan. Throughout his career, Thor has created enterprise value for organizations through the innovative application of technology to business opportunities, with a relentless focus on quality and user experience and a commitment to developing high performing teams. Thor earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science with an emphasis on Machine Learning from University of California, Berkeley and an MBA (Entrepreneurship and Technology) from the University of California, Irvine.

    Johnathan Podemsky
    VP of Product Johnathan is a product leader and technologist with more than a decade of experience in consumer grade products for professionals and enterprises. He has a wide range of experience designing, managing, and launching both technical/back-end and consumer facing products. Throughout his career, Johnathan has built and scaled high-performing product teams that thrive on rapid-iteration, data‐driven analysis, and relentless user focus. He is passionate about creating and deploying compelling experiences that change how people work, communicate and grow. Johnathan has a master's degree in computer science and an MBA from MIT
  • John Montealegre

    VP of Finance

    John Montealegre
    VP of Finance John is a strategic financial leader with over a decade of experience in finance, strategy and operations. Prior to joining TigerText, John helped scale and operate a leading VC backed mobile insurance company in Brazil, advised large Brazilian corporations as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company and invested on behalf of large net worth clients at JP Morgan. John has an MBA with a focus in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

    Sean Flynn joined Shasta after working at Yahoo!, most recently as a senior director of business development and business operations, where he focused on growing the company’s communication and community products such as Yahoo! Mail, Messenger, Groups and Flickr. Previously he launched Yahoo’s premium voice services as a product manager. Prior to Yahoo, Sean was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, where he advised technology, telecom and media companies in New York and Singapore. Sean holds a BA in economics from Brown University.

    John H. Friedman is the Founding and Managing Partner of Easton Capital Group. Prior to founding Easton Capital, John was the founder and Managing General Partner of Security Pacific Capital Investors. Security Pacific Capital Investors was a $200-million private equity fund geared towards expansion financings and recapitalizations.

    Before joining Security Pacific, John was a Managing Director and Partner at E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co., Inc., where he spent eight and a half years. During his tenure, John was involved in Warburg’s investments in Computerland, Tweeds, Babbages and US Healthcare. Previously, John was an attorney with Sullivan and Cromwell.

    He holds a JD degree from Yale Law School and a BA degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Yale College. John currently serves on the Boards of Promedior, Experimed, Trellis Bioscience, Cardiovascular Systems, Xoft, iTherX, PlaySpan. He was also co-chairman of the President’s Council at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and serves as a Trustee of The New Museum of Contemporary Art and the Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter.

  • Vijay Lathi

    Vijay Lathi is Managing Director at New Leaf Ventures and concentrates primarily on our information convergence and diagnostics investments. Vijay joined Sprout in 1998, and was part of the team that spun out of Sprout in 2005 to form New Leaf. Prior to joining Sprout, working as an analyst in the Healthcare Venture Capital Group at Robertson Stephens & Co. and Cornerstone Research, a consulting firm focused on financial and economic analysis for business litigation. Vijay graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University where he received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering, with an emphasis on the application of engineering to life science technology. Vijay is also a member of AiCHE.

  • Robert Mittendorff

    Robert Mittendorff

    Robert brings to Norwest Venture Partners more than a decade of operational and medical experience. Based in Norwest’s Palo Alto office, Robert focuses on investing capital in venture and growth opportunities in the healthcare sector, including digital health and healthcare IT, technology enabled healthcare services, medical devices, diagnostics, and specialty pharma. He currently serves on the board of iCardiac and TigerText, and is a board observer at Crossover Health, iRhythm, and Telcare, and was involved with the initial investments in Misfit Wearables and Health Catalyst. He has also been involved in Norwest’s follow-on investment in Basis (acquired by Intel). Robert was a previous board observer at Intersect ENT (Nasdaq: XENT).

    Prior to Norwest, Robert was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Hansen Medical Inc. (Nasdaq: HNSN). During his tenure, he launched multiple products, including the Magellan and Sensei X robotic systems, and was involved in leading products from concept to first commercial shipment. As a corporate officer, Robert also led the Company’s partnerships with GE, Siemens, Philips and St. Jude Medical and executed transactions totaling over $100M. He created the Scientific Advisory Board and participated in two public financings.

    Perry Wallack

    Perry Wallack, co-founder and CFO of Cornerstone OnDemand, is responsible for the Company’s accounting, tax and financial functions, systems and processes. With over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, tax and operations, Wallack has a wealth of expertise in several strategic financial disciplines, including financial planning, taxation, auditing and accounting for both public and private companies. Wallack has successfully raised public equity, private equity and commercial bank financing with Cornerstone since November 1999. Wallack was a driving force behind Cornerstone’s successful IPO in 2011. As a founder of Cornerstone, Wallack has gained the invaluable experience of growing the business from inception in 1999 to the present day scale of an organization with over 600 employees.

    Steven Yecies
    Director

    Steven Yecies, is a Venture Partner at OrbiMed. Mr. Yecies brings over 20 years of experience as an investor, consultant, entrepreneur and senior manager in the healthcare information technology and healthcare services sectors. Most recently, he founded and ran Chronic Health Capital and serves on the Board of Dicom Grid and as an advisor to integrated health systems. Mr. Yecies founded and operated the global health and wellness business at Scient (Nasdaq: SCNT) where he built several first generation e-health businesses. Mr. Yecies holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a J.D. from U.C. Berkeley Law School and received his A.B. in Government from Dartmouth College.
