Connection Status

It’s human nature that we want to stay connected. But sometimes, no matter how strong we build our networks, something intervenes. The stairwell in the parking garage. A jump between WiFi signals. The basement storage room. For various reasons, we get bumped off. Bandwidth dwindles. A connection drops.

As frustrating as it can be when we lose a connection, we’re better off if we know what happened. With this next release, TigerText will be expanding the Connection Status Notifications in the top banner to show more information. As before, the banner will show when there is absolutely no connection available. But with this release, the banner will give more details about interruptions in network connectivity and TigerText’s attempts to reconnect.

Connection Status

We want to make it clear when a connection problem might be interfering with message transmission or access to attachments. Whether a user needs to change a device setting or move to a new location, the banner will cue them to take action and restore connectivity.

Thumbnail Previews for Maps and Webpages

Is a picture really worth a thousand words? If so, the thumbnail previews we’re introducing for maps and webpages will save you a lot of typing. After this release, messages containing a physical address or URL will automatically display a thumbnail image attached to the message. Addresses will show a map of the location, while links will show a screen-capture of the webpage.

Now when you give your colleagues directions, you won’t have to explain turn-by-turn details. Nor will you have to pitch them on why they should click your link to an interesting article. Instead, you can trust the new previews to explain things more efficiently than words. About a thousand times more efficiently, give or take.
